P. 88 in Raza D'Shabbos, Eliyah Weintraub, zt'l's piece on Tevila L'Mikveh B'Erev Shabbos. Tumah, the taste of death, entered in the world with the sin of eating from the Eitz HaDaas (Tree of Knowledge). Therefore, the tikun (repair) for this sin is through daas, that happens through water, the mikveh. Keri is related to a loss of daas, and the mikveh restores daas. The Rambam calls the water of the mikveh 'mei hadaas'. The whole power of Shabbos is the refine our daas.
