Description

Essay: "HaTeshuva Lo Shabbos Kodesh, Hakdama" - Raza D'Shabbos. P. 82 - The connection and difference between Yom Tov and Shabbos. Shabbos' kedusha comes from Hashem in the creation of the world. The kedusha of Yom Tov comes from the Jewish people, through the Beis Din, though it really comes from the kedusha of Shabbos. Something that is inherently kodesh can make something else kodesh. The name of Shabbos is oneg (delight), while the nature of the Yom Tov is simcha (joy). Each person's oneg Shabbos is personal. Food is not the essence of oneg, of Gan Eden, but chochma (Torah wisdom) is. Olam Haba is all about the oneg of chochma. A chacham (a wise person) will learn from everything in life. Who you are is revealed on your face, but the shine of chochma on your face. When you are attached to something, you love it, and vice versa.
