Description

61st shiur based on Rav Avraham Tzvi Kluger's "Nezer Yisroel - HaTeshuva Lo Shabbos Kodesh, Hakdama - Raza D'Shabbos. P. 77 - A person who has daas (knowledge), has everything. When the bris has a tikun (rectification) through bris mila, it raises up the powers of the soul, specifically seeing and hearing, and it gives the person control over himself. The destruction of daas happened with the first sin, with the orlah (foreskin) covering the bris. The blemishing of the bris leads to a loss of daas, and a person becomes like an animal. Avram became Avraham with the bris, because he reached a level of perfection. The main work in shmiras habris is to build daas through learning Torah. Avraham gave life to the world, the opportunity to fix the bris, to fix daas. On Shabbos, there is a possibility of real change. The mila (circumcision) puts a filter between us and the six days of the week.
