Description

Razah D'Shabbos - P59 - Essay: Gimmel Shlavim B'Or Shabbos Achieving clarity and tranquility on Shabbos. In the tefillah (prayer) "Nishmas Kol Chai" the soul is described in two ways, in two levels, one of which (neshamah) is more connected to spirituality, and the other (ruach) is completely connected to the body. The neshamah aspect is able to express praise of Hashem at the highest level. The difference between experiencing something and merely remembering it. On Shabbos, a person can grasp the truth that everytyhing is Hashem and there is nothing else. Candle-lighting, the first stage of accepting Shabbos upon ourselves. On Shabbos, there is a complete rejection of "erev" - darkness and confusion, of an unclear mixture.
