Description

Razah D'Shabbos - P50 - Essay: Inyan Melaveh Malkah The completion of redemption is accomplished by constructing the Beis Hamikdash (Holy Temple) and depends on the Sh'chinah (Divine Presence) resting among us. Even though we live "bal korchah" (by coercion), whether we like it or not, the entire process of donating to the Mishkan (Tabernacle) was one of nedivus (volunteering). Avraham Avinu (our father) - the ultimate volunteer and first convert. Why was Bezalel chosen to be filled with the talents and wisdom to build the Mishkan? What it means to give up one's life "al kiddush Hashem" (to sanctify G-d's name). The depth of the unbreakable connection a Jew has with Hashem ultimately means: we will volunteer to not have any choice.
