Razah D'Shabbos - P47 - Essay: Inyan Melaveh Malkah
Seeing the beauty of the the whole person which flows from the aspect of "everything is in heaven and earth." Wanting to opt out, chas veshalom, of the "keeping mitzvos (commandments) and receiving s'char (reward)" program. The two ways Hashem via which Hashem relates to Bnei Yisrael - free choice and forced Kingship - both of which are rooted in yetzias (exodus from) mitzrayim. We require da'as, knowledge, the ability to differentiate and to make the proper choice, and emunah, faith, to believe with temimus (in a a simple way). Even when, in logic, the relationship is over, Hashem tells us that He is still our God. Where da'as ends, emunah must take over. Every person has that point of "she'einoh yode'ah lish'ol" (when he doesn't know any more how to ask) - and the point at which he becomes a "tam" - where his understanding ends.
