Description

Razah D'Shabbos - P44 - Essay: Achizas shamayim va'aretz We "rise up from the dirt" by turning our back on the curse of the six days of the week. The special importance of going to the mikveh (ritual bath) on erev Shabbos. Shabbos is more conducive to anticipating t'chias hameisim (resurrection of the dead) and connecting to what is happening in the higher world. The world of th eland the world of the ocean (water / mikveh) a human being cannot exist. The mikveh can clean us to the degree to which we elevate our kavanahs (intention) while dunking. On erev Shabbos, a person can become a different human being - through bechirah (choice) which is the one characteristic that makes him most similar to Hashem. During the week we make choices ot improve the world; on Shabos, we don't merely embellish this world, but we dip all of it into the mikveh to connect to olam ha'emes (the true world). Tasting true life and choosing greatness on Shabbos.
