Description

Razah D'Shabbos - P33 - Essay: Ha'aliyos LeShabbos - Rising Up Towards Shabbos The weekly potential, as a result of Shabbos, to return to the state of absolute pre-sin purity. Oneg (delight of) Shabbos means that this delight is not merely a feature or, but rather an essential component of Shabbos. The midah (trait) of chochmah (wisdom) is revealed in its highest form on Shabbos, manifest in "hakol" (everything). [e.g., hakol yoduchah, hakol yeshab'chuchah]. Eden (delight) also means "not yet," similar to the Hebrew word "adayin" - and that is the matzav (state) to which we aspire to return. Within the limitations of this world, Shabbos provides the opportunity to reconnect to the original delight - m'ein olam habah (similar to the world to come).
