When we rest on Shabbos, we return to our mekor, our source. The three levels at which creation rests. The primordial chomer (matter). Chochmah (wisdom) - the potential-bearing matter at the root of the building blocks of creation. All judgements are removed on Shabbos. Bechirah (choice) means that we have the opportunity to take our kochos (abilities) into the world, to strengthen or to weaken (chas veshalom) Hashem's light in this world. No evil, cloudiness or confusion can exist at the source.
