Description

12th shiur based on Rav Avraham Yitzchok Kluger's "Nezer Yisroel - Sichos Ma'amarim" Volume 1, p. 306 In the essay: Ziv HaShabbos, section: "Hateshuvah L'ohr Shabbos Kodesh" How is teshuvah (repentence) connected to Shabbos? The same way a villager becomes filled with regret when he is brought into the king's palace and sees how falsely he accused the king, we understand the foolishness of our weekday actions when we enter the clarity of Shabbos. The teshuvah of Shabbos: When everything, in a single moment, becomes completely clear. Shabbos adds the dimension of kirvas Elokim (closeness to Hashem). Showing the love and beauty of Yiddishkeit to another Jew rather than pointing out their sins. To a certain extent, we all are ignorant villagers - and we still haven't left the village.
