Description

6th shiur based on Rav Avraham Yitzchok Kluger's "Nezer Yisroel - Sichos Ma'amarim" Volume 1, p. 286 In the essay: Ziv HaShabbos, section: "Klum Chasser B'Veis HaMelech." On Shabbos, nothing exists besides delighting in the presence of the King. The great stringency of Shabbos - somebody who violates Shabbos shows that he has not been touched by Elokus (G-dliness). Yitzchak Avinu (our forefather) embodied the essence of Shabbos - he is that part of a person that does not have to change. Even building the Mishkan (tabernacle) was forbidden on Shabbos. Making ourselves into nothingness, a vessel to accept Shabbos and the Sh'chinah (divine presence). T'filah le'ani - the poor man's prayer: to always be able to talk to Hashem. Content with what we have, no matter how terrible our lot might appear to others. Maybe one person's walls are cracked and the paint is peeling, but the other person's life is cracked.
