Description
5th shiur based on Rav Avraham Yitzchok Kluger's "Nezer Yisroel - Sichos Ma'amarim" Volume 1, p. 286 In the essay: Ziv HaShabbos, section: "Klum Chasser B'Veis HaMelech."
How can I truly LIVE Shabbos once I have come home from shul, have closed the sefer (book) I was learning, or have finished reviewing the Parshah with my children? When the words we pray or sing in zmiros (songs) become reality. Moving from the notion of "removing the darkness of the six days of the week" to "experiencing the menuchah (deep rest) of residing in Hashem's palace." Living Shabbos in the T'hillim chapter of "mizmor leDovid" (a song unto David). Entering into Shabbos through Shir HaShirim (Song of Songs) and the prayer of "Hodu lashem ki tov..." If a Jew doesn't have Shabbos, the week can destroy him. Stopping to think, on Shabbos, about all the things we have to take care of during the week. The BlackBerry/Cell phone/PDA addiction; maybe I can get myself to a place where I simply "don't need it" and it's good for me!
