Description
When we offer the neshama (soul) a sampling of ruchnius (spirituality), it painfully yearns for more. The painful yearning of the neshama is a sign that our teshuva is real, and that there is still hope for us to improve. In order to appreciate the sweetness of life we have to taste its bitterness. In order to experience the yom tov (good day) in Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Year), we have to experience the trepidation of the day. If we don’t realize that we are enslaved then we will never break free.
