Description

Indication that teshuvah is starting is a feeling that something is "not right." Purim is based on root word "pirurim" (crumbs)- any little mitzvah we do is crucially important. Admitting our averas (even to ourself) shrinks the obstruction to teshuvah and gives us strength to persevere. On Yom Kippur we admit our sins; on Succos we celebrate joyously; on Simchas Torah all the gates are open. Honesty will eventually lead to a life where Hashem will lift us up to heights we never dreamt of.
