Description

The spiritual eyes of a person are shut due to the p'gimas hanefesh (damage of the soul). One of the things that drives us to do teshuva (repentance) is the anguish that we feel when we want to improve and we see everyone around us inspired but we can't feel that inspiration. The spiritual light is always shining but because of our aveiros (sins) we can't see or feel the light. Hashem wants the neshama (soul) to be a Rebbe (teacher) for the guf (body) so the guf won't run loose.
