Description

Teshuvah (repentance) is an endless cycle of raising up the small and making it great. In creating the world, G-d brought the finite and infinite together in order to cause a crack. The "imperfection" of creation is what allows evil, freedom of choice, and the possibility of constantly perfecting ourselves. All of creation senses the original perfection and longs to find it. We are fortunate to have the Torah, which teaches us how to elevate ourselves. G-d expects us to constantly move upward by deepening our Torah study and improving our midos (character). The Rabbinic laws and customs are our gift of love to G-d. Idolatry is stagnation.
