Description

We shy away from the regret that teshuvah (repentance) requires because it is painful. Unhealthy remorse can lead to depression, but healthy regret brings joy. The anguish of remorse is a fire that burns away the bad of the past while illuminating the future. "In a place where a ba'al teshuvah (penitent) stands, a tzaddik gamur (person who was always righteous) does not." A cataclysmic failure can cause a person to shun the questionable movies, TV, Internet, and magazines that led us there. If co-ed camps were really separate, they wouldn't need to claim that a moat separates the boys from the girls.
