9th Perek, piece 3. The galus of the Jewish people from Eretz Yisrael is also the galus of Torah. Rav Kook wants us to see the hekef (big picture) of the Torah and all the details in a beautiful way. The beauty of Torah is seen its entirety, which the Rif helps us see, specifically from the halachos of Shas. Seeing the klilas yofi (the total beauty) of the Torah is likened to seeing the kallah (bride). In Rav Kook’s generation, there were Gedolim like the Brisker Rav and the Rogatchover who were teaching nigleh (revealed Torah) in a nistar (hidden Torah) way. A broad and deep knowledge of Torah along with the appropriate wisdoms of the world will make a person great.
