Description
7th Perek, piece 2, continued. A piece from the Ohr HaChaim on the Chazal that discusses the question that a neshama is asked after it leaves the world regarding the learning it did and did not do. In shamayim (heaven) they ask why you didn't reach the next higher level of learning that you were capable of. The penalty for someone who could have learned Kabbalah but did not is to be thrown into the Dina River. A person who puts in a huge amount of effort but is not successful has an aspect of greatness. There is no greater bitul Torah (wasting Torah learning time) than being in galus (exile). At Har Sinai (Mt. Sinai) we were given our personal chelek (portion) in Torah and the capability to learn it.
