Wondrous benefits of learning Torah lishmah (for its own sake). If we learn lo lishmah (not for its own sake) then we only see details and not the entire wondrous picture. The biggest daveners are BT's who were never told that they had to daven. Rav Kook wrote major halachic teshuvas (responses) also. Success in learning depends on yiras shamayim (Awe of Hashem). Expansion of intellectual keenness is based on what our heart wants.
