The fine details of halacha (Jewish Law) are integrally related to Hashem's giving the Torah on Har Sinai. If we live a life just with the details of halacha we become detached from theTorah. We should be the happiest nation on the face of the earth. Our yiddishkeit is dull- glory changed into misery. We feel like a dangling nail. We are not happy with it hanging but we cannot take it off. Detachment results in floundering in worldly desires or an arousal to re-connect. Amalek enters into our life if we do not learn the lower and the higher Torah. Davening expresses our desire to reconnect. Torah learning repairs deep inner lights- the etzem of our neshama.
