Learning pnimius (inner) Torah uplifts the neshama (soul). Most yeshivas in the system dwell "in the trees" and do not even consider "the forest". Christianity emptied out the details and eliminated Hashem. Fascination and obsession with clothing. The infinite light of Hashem enters into every detail of this world. Learning Torah lishmah (for its own sake) has many positive benefits.
