Description

Galus (exile) doesn't only mean that the Community of Israel has been driven away from the Land of Israel. There is also the galus of Torah which is the separation between the chosson (Written Torah) and kallah (Oral Torah). The result of galus is that something horrible has happened to the Torah. The "twins" (Written Torah and the Oral Torah) been separated. The Written Torah has retreated to the heavens of kedusha (holiness) and the Oral Torah has descended to lowest depths. Until the Jewish People's return to the Land of Israel, the separation between the beloved husband and wife cannot be mended.
