Description

Ma'amar HaDor, P16. How is it possible that people are so great, yet so small in their observance of mitzvos. The need to prepare a path for the current and future generations - into Yerushalayim [spiritually and physcially]. Bringing the generation back to that "room" where it was conceived. Wine - deeper aspects of learning Torah; pomegranate - the inner essence of mitzvos. Many of those who have left the path of Yiddishkeit over the generations, and continue to do so today are looking for meaning and fulfillment which they were not able to find in Yiddishkeit presented in a dry and tasteless way. The need to add more "wine," more sweetness, more enjoyment to Torah and Yiddishkeit. The desires of this generation: to understand, to be courageous (no longer a frightened ghetto Jew), living an exhilarated, healthy life [physically and emotionally], peace. Our generations dont identify any of these desires with our parents' Yiddishkeit. In our search to understand, if our children (or we ourselves) don't understand of what Shabbos really is, then they are bored with Shabbos and look for something else. If we don't understand something, we can't possibly enjoy it!
