Description

Everything that exists in kedusha (holiness), has its counterpart in tumah (impurity). Amalek stands opposed to Malchus Shamayim (Kingdom of Heaven) and will not allow the light to penetrate. Shabbos candles create Shalom Bayis (peace in the home) which enables us to remember something form Olam Haba (the World to Come) and apply it to Olam Hazeh (This World). The light of Shabbos enables us to remember the danger of Amalek and that he must be eradicated.
