The Yid HaKodesh was known to have an extreme personality. He had great expectations from his chassidim. He had an incredible love for Jews and felt they could reach lofty levels. Despite his extreme personality he taught that the tachlis (purpose) of life is not to be found in withdrawing from this world but rather in sanctifying this world. His name, "Holy Jew" came from his strong belief that each and every day was his first day of being a Jew worshipping G-d. He accepted upon himself to perfect the performance of one positive commandment and be completely pure in the observance of one negative commandment. There were four specific things that caused the famous rivalry between the Yid Hakodesh and the Chozeh of Lublin.
