Description

Explanation of differences in outlook between the Polish Chassidim & the Holy Jew. The Yid HaKodesh succeeded his teacher, the Seer of Lublin, which was marred by tension and jealousy. The leadership of Polish Chassidus took a new direction under the mantle of the Yid HaKodesh. The new trail blazed by his followers was a combination of Chassidic and scholarly values with intense criticism of "practical" Chassidus which they considered vulgarization of Chassidus. Their custom to begin davening at a late hour aroused considerable opposition.
