Avraham is referred to as Attika Kedisha- the Ancient Holy One. He is the first one who has some understanding of the reason for Creation. Avraham opens the path of thinking about Hashem and the awareness is fully developed in Yaakov, the embodiment of emes (truth). Through the transformation of the Avos (Patriarch's) we are able to achieve the final part of the task.
