Description

The chassidus (court) of Pshischa advocated independent thinking, as opposed to other groups who followed their ancestors' customs religiously. There was much opposition to Reb Simcha Bunim of Pshischa and the chassidus of Pshischa. Reb Meir from Opt sent messengers to dispute Reb Simcha Bunim, but Reb Simcha Bunim always outwitted them. Reb Simcha Bunim was devastated by the death of his opponent, Reb Meir from Opt. Reb Simcha Bunim's disciple explained why he still be friends with someone who opposed to Reb Simcha Bunim.
