Description

Rebbe Nachman warned strongly against reading philosophical books. Our main avodah is yiras haOnesh (simple fear of sin). Old fashioned yiras haOnesh can break certain desires. Learning philosophical works stirs in us that power for evil which strengthens our power of rationalization. We lose touch with natural healthy emunah (faith) in us. Statistics have shown that a higher percentage of scientists "believe in G-d," than literature people.
