In a crunch, the physical body awakens our soul. When a tiny virus causes grave illness, it is a message to the soul. Crazy struggle in western society to conceal one's real age. The body tells us that we won’t live forever. It’s relatively easy to wake up from taivos (desires). It’s very difficult to wake up from a distorted philosophy, but G-d still helps us. Water symbolizes knowledge of G-d; wine symbolizes free will.
