Hashem takes pride in the essence of every one of us. The shaliach tzibbur (prayer leader) must be able to elevate the good points of even the lowest of the congregation. Ten men are needed for a minyan (quorum for prayer) to ensure the presence of ten different points, corresponding to the ten sefiros (Divine Emanations), and ten niggunim (songs). Carelessness with tikkun ha'bris (sexual purity) causes our prayers to weaken. The tzaddik can sweeten dinim (stern judgment) through his niggunim. Apathy is the fiftieth level of tumah (impurity).
