A holy musician can distinguish a ruach (wind/spiritual force) of kedushah (holiness) from that of tumah (impurity). A musical instrument has the power of life and death. The neginah (music) of resha'im (evil people) causes depression. The tzaddik (righteous person) or holy musician can create the niggun that has the power to transform a rasha (evil person) into a tzaddik.
