The ten different types of neginah (song) in Tehillim (Psalms) correspond to our spiritual anatomy, to our 'pulses' and to the ten sefiros (spiritual emanations). There are ten types of neginah of kedushah (holiness) and ten of tumah (impurity). There are ten sefiros of kedushah and ten of tumah. In the sefiros of kedushah, Kesser is related to patience, Chochmah to renewal, and so on. In the sefiros of tumah, Keser is related to anger, Chochmah to inflexibility, and so on. The ten psalms of Tikkun K'lali and the ten types of neginah remedy sickness in the ten powers of the soul. The Rebbe knew the neginah required to spiritually heal someone merely by holding his hand and feeling the 'ten pulses'. All sickness arises from damaged joy and can be healed through song.
