The ikkur (essence) of emes (truth) is to bring us closer to Hashem. The tachlis (ultimate purpose) of Torah is to reveal our personal emes, even if we are spiritually far away. The last letters of the first three words of the Torah spell emes (truth). The end of the Torah hints to emes by alluding to the breaking of the luchos (tablets) by Moshe. Throwing the luchos down was an action of emes because Hashem Himself threw emes to the ground. When the angels of emes said that Man shouldn't be created, they were right according to the heartless truth that causes distance. Hashem created the world because He is emes l'amito (real truth), which brings us closer to Hashem.
