Rebbe Nachman foresaw the tragic results of secularization, enlightenment, assimilation and reform. He knew the teachings of the Zohar have the power to uplift the assimilated. Rebbe Nachman himself as the authentic source through which Rebbe Shimon's Torah would enter the world. His aim was to guarantee the survival of Torah.
