Reb Nachman MiBreslov’s teachings are generally related to an event he, or others, experienced. Reb Nachman displayed extraordinary awe and love of G-d. The introduction to the Likutei Maharan, (the magnum opus of Rabbi Nachman) was derived from the teaching that Rabbi Nachman taught while traveling to Uman shortly before his death. During Bar Kochva's rebellion Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai promised that the torah would never be forgotten, despite the chachomim’s (leader’s) skepticism. The hidden secrets of the Torah, revealed by Reb Shimon Bar Yochai, kept the Torah alive.
