We see the great impact that Rebbe Nachman had on the world through a first hand account by Reb Pinchos Yehoshua, the son of Reb Nachman’s great disciple. Reb Pinchos Yehoshua explains that Rebbe Nachman was able to repair his soul, a feat that leaders of preceding generations were incapable of. A story is told of Reb Chaykala the Chazzan’s attempt to influence Rebbe Nachman to break a self-imposed fast. The opposition to Rebbe Nachman grew stronger. We hear a description of Rebbe Nachman’s unbelievable d’veikus (connection to G-d) on Shabbos. Reb Yechiel, Rebbe Nachman’s brother, became a chassid (follower).
