Sometimes the tzaddik (righteous Jew) has to descend to bring his light to the darkest places. We should daven (pray) with feelings of poverty and desperation. Hollywood is one of the darkest places in the world. Yaakov our forefather went to even darker places than his grandfather Avraham. The Noam Elimelech and Reb Zusha would accuse each other of the aveiros (transgressions) that their hosts had done, bringing their hosts to teshuvah.
