The houses of the tzaddikim were destroyed when the Holy Temple was destroyed. The tzaddikim who feel the pain of the Shechinah go out into galus with the Shechinah to see the suffering of the Jewish people. Reb Zusha brought his brother, the Noam Elimelech, with him to initiate him into the ways of the Baal Shem Tov. Though we have permanent dwellings these days, we Jews are still wandering. Hashem's redemption is dependent on us. It can be difficult to daven when all of our material needs are fulfilled.
