Description

Though Reb Leibele did not like miracle stories, there are plenty of stories of miracles that he performed to help other Jews. He was a sweet person, but was a warrior when fighting against the haskala (Jewish 'enlightenment'). He was very close with the Rebbe of Gur, the Chiddushei HaRim. Though Reb Leibele left Izhbitz to create a new Chassidus in Lublin, the two groups still maintained good relations. He left the world right before Shabbos, and despite a huge blizzard, 20,000 Jews came to his levaya (funeral).
