Description

P. 41. The goal is to find balance between chochma (wisdom) and bina (understanding). When we ask for bina, via Torah learning, during davening, we ask for it b'ahava (with love). A person who says that the secrets of Torah are not for him is saying that Hashem is not for him. A bina person will stick to a program, use his current kochos (powers), and will do small actions. A chochma person will reach beyond himself. A chochma person needs to strengthen himself with bina, to pay attention to details. A bina person needs to learn to reach beyond himself. Every Jew is by definition spiritual, just not every Jew is comfortable with being in touch with that truth.
