P. 31. Continuing the discussion about chochmah (wisdom) and binah (understanding) and the example of writing a sefer Torah. Ratzon (desire/will) precedes chochmah and binah. Everything that is, any ideas, thoughts, characteristics, words or actions of everything in creation are part of the system of the ten sefiros (divine emanations). Chochmah and binah in terms of our abilities to see and hear. Seeing the whole or the parts. Two voices cannot be heard (and understood - binah) at the same time. Chochmah is the ability to generate the first flash of general understanding. Binah (sixe days of the week) and chochmah (Shabbos) must work together. Appreciating a detail as part of the whole. The basis of a relationship is knowledge, not a focus on the details of how and why. Shabbos takes a person out of the minutiae and small details of life.
