Napoleon defended the Jewish people. Kozhnitzer Maggid argued with Reb Mendel Riminover over whether Napoleon was good. Modern democracy is not a Jewish concept. Germany had the highest rate of intermarriage and violating Shabbos. Russian Jews struggling in America. It's often better to suffer than to be handed things. Kozhnitzer refused to give into the temptation of Napoleon.
