Description
P. 67. The "imperfect" tzaddik's (righteous person) last remaining, miniscule connection to pleasures of this world which are not connected to elokus (godliness). Elokus and pleasures of this world for their own sake cannot intersect. The possibility that within onen person exists a passionate love for elokus and a love for matters of this world (disconnected from Hashem) can only be, because these two loves do not come from the same nefesh (soul). In the same way that the "imperfect" tzaddik's hatred for sin is not 100% complete, so too his love for Hashem is not 100% complete. A [healthy] mother's love for her child is the tachlis (essential purpose) of love.
