Description

P. 23 in the commentary (9th perek). The goal of the nefesh Elokis is to have complete control over every limb of the body. In so doing, the nefesh behamis loses its independence, and has to carry out the will of the nefesh Elokis. At first, the nefesh behamis resists but still goes along, grumbling, but eventually it becomes a big chassid of the nefesh Elokis. The difference between a Jew and goy is that Hashem is our melech (king) but is the moshel (ruler) over the goyim. The goal is for the body to become a merkava (chariot) for the nefesh. The body of a tzaddik cannot go against the ratzon (will) of Hashem. Our Yiddishkeit should be exciting and real, and be really who we are.
