P. 9 in the commentary (9th perek). Now we enter into the war between the nefesh behamis (animal soul) and the nefesh elokis (G-dly soul). A person who is trying to fight the inner war is a very diffferent person than someone who is not. What gives you your chius (lifeforce)? The nefesh behamis' main concern is serving himself, not serving Hashem. It is a big zechus (merit) to be in the war and learn the Tanya.
