Description

P. 230. (6th perek). Hashem created the powers of tumah (impurity) to be the counterforce for every power of kedusha (holiness), that is, the nefesh behamis (the animal soul) to counterbalance the nefesh Elokis (G-dly soul). A true emotional experience of Hashem is fully reliant of the quality of the sechel (mind) - the sefirot (divine emanations) of Chochma (wisdom), Bina (understanding), and Daas (knowledge). In the nefesh behamis, the emotions can be awakened and destructively applied without any intellectual effort. Young people in this generation do not seek hadracha (guidance), and they think they can live life according the way they feel is right. For the nefesh behamis, the mind follows after the emotions. We have to know how to distinguish between whether we are coming from the nefesh behamis or nefesh Elokis.
