Description

P. 220. (5th perek). Lishma is the intention that our Torah learning should bind our neshama to Hashem, each person according to their ability. Torah is an ohr pnimi (inner light) and since it is also a mitzvah, it is a makif (surrounding light). Albert Einstein's discoveries could be considered an ohr makif - we may not understand what he is saying, but that wisdom has a big impact on us. The ohr makif can have an impact on you, but it is just out of reach. The ohr pnimi is more palpable, but not as bright. Torah enables yichud (unification) and it itself is yichud. When we speak our Torah learning Torah, the vapor of the breath rises up and becomes an ohr makif. When we speak out our Torah, we can reach a higher level of understanding.
