P 175. (4th perek). The etzem (essence) of a person is the 10 kochos (powers) as expressed through thought, speech, and action. A mitzvah done properly is higher than the kochos and the levels of soul. The Torah and Hashem are one. The Torah was not created, it is Hashem's chochma (wisdom) and ratzon (will). Yesh (existence) can only connect to Ayin (no-thing) through Torah and mitzvos. Hashem giving us the Torah is essentially Hashem giving us Himself. Hashem enclothed His essence, existence, and unity in the Torah.
